  1. Initial Contact
    Begin by upload images of your artwork and provide known key details, such as the artist’s name, medium, dimensions, and provenance.
  2. Assessment & Quote
    Once we receive your submission, we’ll review the information and provide a personalized quote based on your appraisal needs (e.g., insurance coverage, resale, donation, etc.).
  3. On-Site or Remote Consultation
    For detailed evaluations, we may schedule an on-site visit to inspect the artwork or proceed remotely if applicable.
  4. Appraisal Report
    You’ll receive a comprehensive appraisal report, complete with images and detailed documentation tailored to your specified purpose.
  5. Follow-Up & Advisory
    We’re here to answer any additional questions or provide further guidance, including advisory services for sales, donations, or collection management.

Fee Structure

Our fees are based on either an hourly rate or a flat rate, depending on the scope of your project. These fees cover all aspects of the appraisal process, including inventory and documentation, market research, and report preparation.

Once the details of your project are established, you will receive a comprehensive engagement agreement. This agreement will outline the appraisal methodology, expected timeline, required documentation, and associated costs, ensuring complete transparency throughout the process.


Terms of Service

At JSK Fine Art Appraisals, we ensure a professional and transparent process for every client. Below are the terms of service:

  1. Estimate and Service Agreement
    • A written estimate and service contract will be provided for your review.
    • The signed contract and a 50% deposit of the estimated fee are required on or before the inspection date.
  2. Inspection Scheduling
    • We will schedule an inspection date with you at your home or business.
    • Travel outside of the greater San Diego area or Southern California is subject to an additional fee of $175.00 per hour.
  3. Research and Reporting
    • Following the inspection, we research the items, prepare the report, and arrive at a valuation within approximately two to three weeks.
    • For estate and charitable contribution reports, please allow four to six weeks for completion.
  4. Final Report Delivery
    • Upon receipt of the remaining balance, a signed PDF of the completed report will be emailed to you.
  5. Payment Methods
    • Payments are accepted via credit card only.
