Private Overview | Remote Service
This service is designed for collectors who want a realistic understanding of what their artwork may sell for and how to approach resale decisions.
It is a research-based, remote appraisal intended to provide clarity, context, and guidance before engaging with galleries, auction houses, or private buyers.
What this service provides
For each artwork submitted, you will receive a written report that includes:
- A summary of the artwork based on the information and images provided
- Relevant market evidence, prioritizing recent comparable sales
- An estimated resale value range
- A recommended resale figure selected within that range
- Commentary on selling considerations and likely venues
- Clear assumptions and limitations related to remote review
The value range reflects the spectrum of realistic outcomes supported by current market data.
The recommended figure represents a practical planning number based on professional judgment and current market conditions.
How to use this report
This report is intended to help you:
- Understand realistic resale expectations
- Decide whether selling makes sense
- Evaluate potential selling options
- Enter conversations with dealers or auction houses more informed
It is meant to support decision-making, not predict or guarantee a final sale price.
What this service is not
This report cannot be used for:
- Insurance coverage
- Tax, donation, or charitable contribution purposes
- Estate settlement or legal matters
- Divorce or litigation
- Authentication or attribution
If you need an appraisal for any of these purposes, a different service would be required.
How the remote process works
- Once confirmed as a fit, you’ll receive a payment link and intake form
- You’ll submit required details and photographs for each artwork
- Market research and analysis are conducted by our team
- Final valuation conclusions are reviewed and approved by a certified appraiser
- The completed report is delivered electronically
If the artwork is not suitable for remote review, we will advise you before proceeding.
When an onsite review may be recommended
In some cases, a remote review may not provide enough information to confidently determine a resale value range.
An optional onsite review may be recommended when:
- Condition issues materially affect value
- Surface details cannot be assessed through images
- Signatures, markings, or editions require in-person confirmation
- The artwork’s value warrants reduced assumptions
Onsite Review Fee: Starting at $200, based on travel time
The onsite review includes inspection, documentation, measurements, and photography.
It does not replace the resale knowledge report fee.
What affects resale outcomes
Resale results vary based on factors such as:
- Market demand and liquidity
- Condition and presentation
- Selling venue and timing
- Fees, commissions, and buyer behavior
Actual results may fall anywhere within the stated range depending on these variables.
Turnaround time
Typical turnaround is 10–15 business days from receipt of complete materials.
Incomplete submissions or additional review needs may extend this timeline.
